Local Government

Local Government

Through organising as a broad-based alliance of faith, union, and community groups, we have secured Living Wage Accreditation at nine local and regional councils across the country.

Our Living Wage Employer Auckland City Council, Kapti Coast District Council,Wellington City Council, Porirua City Council, Hutt City City Council, Greater Wellington Regional, Christchurch City Council, Environment Canterbury, Dunedin City Council.

This has contributed to 1000s of directly employed and contracted workers being guaranteed the living wage rate at a minimum.

Our local government campaigns are active and still putting pressure on local councils to step up and for existing living wage employers to extend to other parts of their organisation.
